Annually in spring in Europe the exhibition of the main achievements in the field of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and electric mobility of the Energylive Expo 2017 is held as a part of a large-scale Green Business Week project. The members of the management of JSC “NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya” visited this event, which was held in Lisbon, Portugal.
The exhibition was represented by high-voltage and power equipment, automation systems for electricity and industry, in particular, by the products produced by large companies such as EFAСEC ( the direct competitor to Siemens in Portugal in the field of high-tech electrical equipment), INOPOWER ( the producer of cogeneration equipment) and many others.
This grandiose exhibition project in the field of electric power industry drew the attention of the specialists of JSC “NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya “, as Portugal, thanks to government policies and subsidies, is known as one of the countries in which the most attention is paid to the transition to renewable energy. It is interesting that in the next five years the government plans to invest $ 10 billion in projects on the use of alternative energy sources, including installations operating in the light of the sun, wind and sea waves in order to provide up to 31% of the country’s needs through renewable sources of energy. To date, the national energy company EDP is the first in the world to put into operation an offshore wind generator based on the floating platform WindFloat. This type of renewable energy, as shown by practice, has already gained worldwide recognition and has a great growth potential.
During the visit to Portugal, the company’s management visited the largest wind power station in Europe, which is opened in the north of Portugal near Porto, where 120 wind installations generate electricity sufficient to provide electricity to 1 million people.
The visit by the company’s management of such a large-scale international project is directly related to the strategic prospects for the development of one of the business lines of JSC “NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya”, concerning renewable energy sources.
