According to the Technical Committee Decision of RNC CIGRE dated 15.11.2017 No. 09.02 -9 (14), the Subcommittee A1 of RNC CIGRE “Rotating Electric Machines” was created on the basis of Inter RAO, PJSC (headed by Belyakov V.V). The goals of the Subcommittee are initiation of proposals for the Research Committee of A1 CIGRE, participation in the research and development of technical documents of the Working Groups of SC 1 CIGRE in the design, monitoring, diagnostics, maintenance, repair of large rotary electric machines, as well as resource management, long-term assessment of the life cycle of equipment and methods of its extension.
Director General of NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC Krupenin N.V. became a member of the Subcommittee.
In the structure of Subcommittee A1 the following national problem working groups are created for the period 2018-2020:
A1.1 Areas of application of asynchronized machines in domestic and foreign electric power industry
A1.2 Systems for maintenance and repair of generators (concept, trends, prospects)
A1.3 Areas of application of valve inductor machines with DC inserts in the electric power industry.
The working groups experts included representatives of NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC Astafyev V.V, Ryabov V.N.
On July 4th, 2018, the General Director of NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC Krupenin Nikolay Vladimirovich took part in the meeting of Subcommittee A1 of the Russian National Committee of the CIGRE “Rotating Electric Machines”. The moderator was Vinitsky Yu.D., D.Sc. in Engineering – Member of the Subcommittee RNC A1 CIGRE, Honored Member of CIGRE. The meeting was held on the basis of Inter RAO-Engineering, Ltd., Moscow, in a video conference format.
The agenda of the meeting, in addition to the organizational issues of the Subcommittee A1 of the RNC CIGRE, was devoted to the discussion of projects initiated by the Subcommittee within the frameworks of established working groups on asynchronized machines, valve inductor machines with DC inserts, generator repair.
Among the questions of the meeting, the professional interest of NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC was caused by the experience of development of air-cooled generators for gas turbines for power stations on the territory of the Kaliningrad region (described in the report of the NPO ELSIB PJSC); analysis of modern domestic and foreign trends in the development of electrical machinery based on the materials of the 46th Session of CIGRE in 2016 and the Colloquium A1 of CIGRE in 2017 (the Representative of Russia in the Study Committee of CIGRE A1, M.B. Roitgartz). Special interest among the specialists of NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya,JSC caused consideration of various types of sensors used in turbine-generators to improve the quality of testing and reliability for long-term operation, described in the report of J.R.Weidner, S.Strack, Siemens AG, Generator Engineering, Germany, and material on vibration monitoring of the end parts of the winding of air-cooled turbine-generators, as set forth in J.Letal, M.Sasic, G.C.Stone, Iris Power-Qualitrol, Canada.
On the eve of the 47th Session of CIGRE (August, 26-31,2018, Paris, France), the meeting also focused on preparations for the coming Session.
As a result of the meeting, organizational decisions were formed, in particular, the goals and tasks of the Subcommittee, expert groups on the design, construction, operation, service and modernization of electrical and power equipment were staffed. The necessity and expediency of establishing cooperation for the purpose of complex solution of issues of electric power transmission were revealed, especcially with PC C6 “Active distribution systems and distributed energy resources”, Subcommittees C2 “Power system operation and control” and C4 “Power system technical performance”.
For NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC work in the Subcommittee allows to participate actively in the development of the domestic electric power industry.
