On April 26 – 28, 2019, deputy head of the TEST department of NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC Filatov A. took part in the 5th China International High Power Test and Measurement Technical Forum, held in Suzhou, China. The organizer was Suzhou Electrical Apparatus Science Academy Co., Ltd, China – (EETI) under the guidance by China Machinery Industry Association with the support of China Electrotechnician Society and China Electrical Equipment Industry Association.
The event was attended by representatives of state authorities of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the State Research Center of the State Council, R&D institutes and suppliers of electrical and power equipment, industry leaders of the country, including CMIF, CES, СEEIA, specialists of power grid companies, and delegates from power companies in Western Europe, such as KEMA, CESI, the scientific community – members of IEEE, CIGRE.
The main purpose of the forum was to present key trends and technologies in the development and testing of high-voltage power equipment; the features of designing and testing of equipment at SHV voltage, issues of synthetic high-voltage tests, as well as VSC-HVDC technology and measurement during tests were considered.
The Chairman of the event Professor Lou van der Sluis from the Netherlands (representative of IEEE and CIGRE) opened the Forum with welcoming speech. Welcoming speakers – Representative of EETI – Hu Delin, members of the Government of China, industrial leaders-companies specialists of CMIF, CES, CEEIA noted the relevance of the event and the growing interest in it among specialists of the power engineering community: while the number of participants of the traditional conference is increasing every year, the geography of the participating countries is expanding. The most interesting research projects for NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC were the following ones: a report on future developments and trends in switching technologies, presented by Professor Lou van der Sluis, the Netherlands, analysis of high-voltage circuit breakers based on KEMA testing experience, done by Rene Smeets, KEMA, a study in areas of synthetic testing of high-voltage circuit breakers rated 550 kV and above, prepared by Ettore Figini, CESI.
The company’s interest in high-voltage testing is not accidental – NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC conducts its own research and development works in the area of high-voltage substation equipment, so the attention of specialists was attracted by the discussion of new technologies and developments which meet the requirements of an innovative technological structure with qualitatively new efficiency, manageable characteristics and successful in conducting of high-voltage tests. In his report, the deputy head of the TEST department of NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC Filatov A. presented a set of test equipment for making ability testing of high-voltage AC circuit breakers rated up to 550 kV, which the company manufactures and supplies. The test equipment, being developed by NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC, is used not only in Russian, but foreign testing labs. Representatives of research centers of China and Europe showed great interest in the report.
Participation in such events allows NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, JSC not only to keep abreast of key trends in the domain, share experiences, but also contribute to the development of the global and domestic electric power industry.
